2nd Annual Mental Health Symposium

The FundaMental Change 2nd Annual Mental Health Symposium took place Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Los Angeles Mission College. The event once again brought together more than 100 mental health service providers, community leaders, advocates, and students from the San Fernando Valley for a series of informative presentations and a call to action.

This year’s topics included:

— Mental Health and Substance Abuse (Dual Diagnosis) presented by Dr. Konstantinos Tripodis of HillView Mental Health Center

— Digital Mental Health and Wellbeing presented by Dr. Timothy Fong of UCLA

— Mental Health and Suicide Prevention presented by Bertha Loaiza of Survivors of Suicide Loss, San Diego

Fifty symposium attendees also participated in a 90-minute Suicide Prevention, Intervention, and Response Training (SPIRT) led by Larry Schallert, LCSW, from College of the Canyons.
